An uninhabited island

There are about 1,200 islands in the Maldives, and only about two hundred are inhabited. Luxury hotels — resorts — occupying the entire island are equipped for about 150 more. Most of the islands in the Maldives are uninhabited.

Mostly inhabited islands are located far from the capital, in remote atolls, but in each atoll there are at least a few islands where no one lives. These can be both relatively large islands and very small ones that can be circumnavigated in a few minutes.

Uninhabited islands have wild nature, they usually form very beautiful and rich reefs that attract a variety of marine life. Sometimes locals call such places "picnic island", a picnic island — because they like to come there on holidays with their family on vacation.

During an excursion to an uninhabited island, lunch is often organized for tourists, and sometimes fresh fish is cooked on the grill. If there are few tourists in the region, it is quite possible that you will find yourself on the island alone and will be able to feel like real Robinsons.

On a trip to a desert island, they take masks and flippers to explore the rich underwater world of the home reef. The surroundings of such an island are usually very picturesque, so be sure to bring a camera with you.
