A Trip to a Sandbank

A sandbank is a small stretch of land in the ocean, typically tiny and made entirely of sand. It is part of a reef that rises above the water’s surface, but not high enough to become a full-fledged island with lush vegetation. Some sandbanks disappear during high tides or even for entire seasons.

Big game fishing is a popular form of entertainment for fishing enthusiasts, the purpose of which is to catch large fish. The Maldives is home to a huge number of all kinds of fish, and before the advent of tourism, fish exports were a major component of the Maldivian economy.

An uninhabited island

There are about 1,200 islands in the Maldives, and only about two hundred are inhabited. Luxury hotels — resorts — occupying the entire island are equipped for about 150 more. Most of the islands in the Maldives are uninhabited.

Mantas are large rays that can grow up to 4 meters in length. They primarily feed on plankton and are harmless to humans. Dolphin safari

In the Maldives, there are around ten species of dolphins, including the bottlenose dolphin (known as Tursiops truncatus), the gray dolphin (Grampus griseus), the striped dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba), and others. Dolphins typically travel in groups, or pods, which can range from just a few individuals to hundreds of these fascinating marine mammals.

The Maldives is known for its breathtaking sunsets, where the sky is painted with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple, perfectly mirrored by the calm, turquoise waters.
